SUMMARY:What Does That Nature Say To You
DESCRIPTION:A young poet drops his girlfriend off at her parents’ house and is amazed by its size. He bumps into her father\, meets her mother and sister\, and they all end up spending a long day together; fueled by conversation\, food and libations. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nHong Sang-soo (born October 25\, 1960) is a South Korean writer-director. He has directed 34 films as of 2026. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nCertain elements are commonly found in Hong’s films. A typical Hong film highlights a theme of domestic realism with many of the scenes set on residential streets\, cafes\, hotels\, schools\, and in the stairwells of apartment buildings. Characters are seen walking around the city\, drinking soju\, and having sex. The main characters are often movie directors or actors\, and scenes typically consist of a single shot\, often beginning and ending with a camera zoom. The budgets for his movies average about $100\,000. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nHong is often spontaneous when shooting\, delivering the day’s scene on the morning of the shoot and frequently changing stories while on set. He rarely prepares scripts in advance. Hong’s style has been compared to Eric Rohmer’s\, and it has even been argued that allusions to Rohmer’s films appear in some films directed by Hong. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRuntime: 108 min

DESCRIPTION:A CCA EXCLUSIVE!! \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAn anxious law school dropout (Matthew Shear) stumbles into a job babysitting his psychiatrist’s three granddaughters and falls for the girls’ mother (Amanda Peet)\, an actress in a rocky marriage. A smart\, New York-set romantic comedy co-starring Alessandro Nivola\, Judd Hirsch\, Bob Balaban\, Andrea Martin\, Zosia Mamet\, and Holland Taylor. Winner of the SXSW Narrative Feature Audience Award. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDIRECTOR’S STATEMENT: “Fantasy Life is a New York comedy that was conceived from my years working as a “manny” for Manhattan families while I navigated mental health problems. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nMy character\, Sam\, and the kids’ mom (whom he pines for)\, Dianne\, played by Amanda Peet\, both have chronic mood disorders. To describe these characters\, I drew on my history with depression and anxiety as honestly as possible; and I was eager to challenge the mental health narratives that always get on my nerves (namely hyper-tragic stories tackling suicide or hospitalization or the Joker). I sought to find drama in the more personal\, everyday comic aspects of living with a mental illness. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhile Sam is loosely based on me\, Dianne’s struggles are very different from my own. She’s an independently wealthy mother of three girls. Her husband (Alessandro Nivola) is off on a big world tour just as her acting career has halted. She’s not working\, but she’s also not doing the bulk of the child care. I became fascinated by the vulnerability of her languishing career\, her wealth\, her mothering. ” -Matthew Shear

SUMMARY:Two Prosecutors
DESCRIPTION:Set in 1937\, at the height of Stalin’s Great Purge\, Two Prosecutors is adapted from a novella by Georgy Demidov\, a physicist who spent fourteen years in the Soviet gulag. Aleksandr Kuznetsov stars as Kornyev\, an idealistic young lawyer who comes across an urgent letter written in blood by an imprisoned aging prosecutor Kornyev admires\, Stepniak (Alexander Filippenko). Convinced that Stepniak has been wrongfully convicted\, Kornyev wins the old man’s trust and sets out to prove his innocence—and to uncover and report the corruption infesting the People’s Commissariat for Internal Affairs. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Two Prosecutors” is a masterful film\, both in terms of context and cinematic values\, once more highlighting Lonznitsa’s prowess as both director and script writer.” -Movie Pulse \n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Sergei Loznitsa’s masterful adaptation of a novella by Georgy Demidov is impeccably photographed\, staged and acted\, and has a chilling resonance with modern times.” -Toronto Star \n\n\n\n\n\n\n“The film’s progression through bureaucratic black holes and intentional tactics meant to wear down the Soviet Union’s last honorable citizen is thus toeing the line between farce and thriller” -Have you seen? \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRuntime: 117 min

SUMMARY:Fantasy Life
DESCRIPTION:A CCA EXCLUSIVE!!

SUMMARY:Calle Malaga
DESCRIPTION:“A lovely and very sweet film about a vibrant elderly Spanish woman Maria Angeles born in Morocco whose daughter sells her flat out from under her and leaves her in an old age home. Her whole life turned upside down\, she escapes the home\, moves back into her flat\, rebuys her furniture from an elderly man who seems uncaring\, and starts to make a living holding soccer match viewing parties with the local men who adore soccer – feeding them and charging a fee. In the meantime the furniture seller and Maria begin a late life affair that rekindles something in both. One of the fine details of the film is that Maria visits her friend\, a nun Josefa who has taken a vow of silence\, but to whom Maria spills out all her feelings about what’s happening to her. The other great thing about the film is that Maria Angeles is played by the incomparable Carmen Maura who easily commands the screen now as much as she did when she became an international star in the early films of Pedro Almodovar. Her performance is brilliant\, subtle and deeply emotional. She deserves an Oscar nomination for this performance. ” -Paul Barnes \n\n\n\n\n\n\n116 minutes \n\n\n\n\n\n\nLanguages: Spanish\, Arabic (English Subtitles)

SUMMARY:Spacewoman
DESCRIPTION:Eileen Collins is the first woman to pilot and command the space shuttle. From her small town beginnings\, she went on to smash many glass ceilings at NASA in her career\, culminating in four dramatic and dangerous space shuttle missions. Through sensational archival materials and intimate interviews\, Hannah Berryman’s nail-biting film considers the emotional drama Eileen’s family experienced\, and a philosophical question about what level of risk is acceptable in human endeavor. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRuntime: 95min

SUMMARY:Up The Academy (1980)
DESCRIPTION:Dir. Robert Downey Sr. – 1980 – 87m \n\n\nDOUBLE FEATURED (2 MOVIES FOR ONE PRICE\, SEE ONE OR BOTH FOR THE SAME PRICE!) WITH THE MAD MAGAZINE UNAUTHORIZED DOC WHEN WE WENT MAD! \nAten-hut\, dudes. Fall in with the cadets of Sheldon R. Weinberg Military Academy\, where the new arrivals have decided that anything goes. So the first things to go are the rules. In the tradition of Stripes and Police Academy\, Up the Academy deploys film-debuting Ralph Macchio and company in a series of raunchy\, madcap maneuvers. Barbara Bach as a fully-armed armaments expert\, Tom Poston as an instructor whose favorite subject is bedcheck and Antonio Fargas as a sadistic soccer coach provide choice comic moments under the direction of Robert Downey (Putney Swope\, Greaser’s Palace). The soundtrack rocks with Cheap Trick\, Sammy Hagar\, Pat Benatar\, David Johansen\, Lou Reed and more. \n“Cheerfully and rudely haphazard.” – Vincent Canby\, New York Times

SUMMARY:Pompei: Below The Clouds
DESCRIPTION:From award-winning filmmaker Gianfranco Rosi comes Pompei: Below the Clouds\, a striking portrait of life in Naples\, a city living in the shadow of Vesuvius. Beneath the quiet threat of eruption\, people go about their days: archaeologists unearth the past\, children learn as the earth hums\, firefighters wait for the next call. The result is a portrait at once local and universal: a reflection on humanity’s capacity to live\, love\, and rebuild in the shadow of the unimaginable. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRuntime: 114 minutes
