SUMMARY:Wonder Women of Country
DESCRIPTION:Brennen Leigh\, Kelly Willis\, Melissa Carper \nTickets cost $33 in advance\, $38 day of show (including service charges). They are also available by phone through Hold My Ticket at 505-886-1251. \nTickets will go on sale to AMP members on Wednesday\, March 25 at 10 AM. Click here for info on AMP Membership. \nRegular on-sale is Friday\, March 27 at 10 AM. \nWhen Kelly Willis\, Melissa Carper and Brennen Leigh—three accomplished singer-songwriters who have forged their own unique lanes in country music—joined forces as a power trio\, there was no more appropriate moniker than Wonder Women of Country. \nAt the end of 2021\, after serendipitously sharing bills separately several times\, Willis approached Leigh and Carper about teaming up and playing some shows together. Wanting more than your standard songwriter-in-the-round arrangement\, the three learned each other’s songs to create a more integrated\, band approach. Those first few shows together were so much fun and so well-received that they decided to continue. \nWonder Women of Country have discovered that\, together\, their own individual superpowers come alive. (One of their superpowers is being able to find hidden treasures in any thrift or vintage store.) With Leigh playing lead guitar and mandolin\, Carper on upright bass\, and Willis playing rhythm guitar\, they support each other’s distinctive original material with beautiful three-part harmonies.

SUMMARY:Mary Gauthier
DESCRIPTION:with special guest Jaimee Harris \nCelebrating the 20th Anniversary of Mercy Now \n“I am excited to announce that this year is the 20th Anniversary of the release Mercy Now\, a record that changed my life. We are celebrating with a vinyl re-release and a tour. I’m not really one to look back\, but reflecting on these ten songs feels more like standing still long enough to take stock\, and appreciating the grace that brought them into existence. These shows will be a continuation of a long conversation with kindred souls\, like you\, who understand the alchemy of song. Kindred souls who know a sad song doesn’t make the darkness deeper; it gives it a shape\, a name\, shines the light on it\, and brings forth hope. ‘Yeah\, we all could use a little mercy now…’” —Mary Gauthier \nMercy Now helped establish Gauthier as one of the preeminent voices in Americana music at the time. The same year the record was released\, Gauthier was named the New Artist of the Year by the Americana Music Association. Mercy Now was also recognized among the Top 10 Albums of 2005 by outlets like the LA Times\, New York Times\, No Depression and Billboard. The record’s title track and enduring favorite “I Drink” has been covered by artists including Boy George\, Blake Shelton\, Tim McGraw and Lynn Moffatt over the years. \nGauthier released her most recent new album\, Dark Enough to See the Stars\, in 2022. In 2024\, she also reissued her 1999 debut\, Drag Queens In Limousines\, in honor of its 25th anniversary. She published a nonfiction book on the art of songwriting\, Saved By A Song\, in 2021.

SUMMARY:Yungchen Lhamo
DESCRIPTION:Imagine a life based on unconditional love. A life filled with compassion\, lived in service of others. A life of prayers and offerings and song. \nNow imagine a voice so unique and beautiful\, so utterly compelling\, that it brings birds to roost in trees and makes wild animals stop in their tracks and listen. A voice as pure as a singing bowl. A voice with a range that astonishes and a force\, a vibration\, that uplifts and restores. \nThen welcome—welcome back—the wonder that is Yungchen Lhamo. \n“I sing to help transform people’s minds and make them better human beings\,” says the globally renowned Tibetan singer. “We are living in difficult times. But together\, bit by bit\, we can change the world.” \nLhamo’s seventh album One Drop of Kindness is a glorious reminder\, a golden encouragement\, for us to do precisely that. Co-produced with John Alevizakis at Little Buddha Studio on the forested slopes of California’s Sierra Nevada\, the recording is a fresh take on an ancient practice\, a work whose seven songs—or better still\, seven offerings—are flavored by musicians on everything from piano\, flute\, drums and electric guitar to didgeridoo\, Indian violin\, the Turkish cümbüs-oud and the Armenian duduk-oboe.
