SUMMARY:Kin-dza-dza (1986)
DESCRIPTION:DIr. Georgiy Daneliya – 1986 – 132m – Russia – In Russian with English subtitles \n\n\nDOUBLE FEATURED (2 MOVIES FOR THE PRICE OF 1\, SEE ONE OR BOTH FOR THE SAME PRICE!) WITH THE 2018 INCREDIBLE STOP MOTION ANIMATED HOFFMANIADA! \nImagine Andrei Tarkovsky circa SOLARIS directing Douglas Adams’ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and you’ll come close to the existential weirdness of the wonderfully loopy Soviet-era sci-fi comedy KIN-DZA-DZA! Two average Muscovites – a plainspoken construction foreman (Stanislav Lyubshin) and a Georgian student carrying a violin case (Leo Gabriadze) – encounter an odd homeless man on the street who asks\, “Tell me the number of your planet in the Tentura?” In a flash\, they’re teleported across the universe to the planet Pluke in the Kin-Dza-Dza galaxy – a Tatooine-like desert world whose inhabitants are hilariously noncommunicative (their main words are “ku” for good and “kyu” for very bad) and where common wooden matches are tremendously valuable. A deadpan\, absurdist mixture of Kurt Vonnegut\, Monty Python\, Samuel Beckett and Jodorowsky’s never-made Dune where alien cultures are even more haphazard and WTF? than our own\, the film is also a savage satire of bureaucratic idiocy and dysfunction no matter what political system you’re living under – or what planet you’re living on. Recently restored by Mosfilm for its first-ever U.S. release by Deaf Crocodile and Seagull Films. \n“Bittersweet satire posing as postapocalyptic science fiction\, Georgiy  Daneliya’s Kin-dza-dza! has as much to say about today as it does the  last gasps of the Soviet Union.” – Budd Wilkins\, Slant Magazine

SUMMARY:Hoffmaniada (2018)
DESCRIPTION:Dir. Stanislav Sokolov – 2018 – 75m – Russia – In Russian with English subtitles \n\n\nDOUBLE FEATURED (2 MOVIES FOR THE PRICE OF 1\, SEE ONE OR BOTH FOR THE SAME PRICE!) WITH THE 1986 LOOPY SOVIET ERA SCI-FI COMEDY KIN-DZA-DZA! \nBased around three of Hoffmann’s tales (Klein Zaches\, The Golden Pot and The Sandman)\, with the main character being Hoffmann himself\, a young lawyer\, musician and writer who lives in two dimensions at once: the imaginary world of his own works and in the ordinary reality of a small town. In the images of his heroes Hoffman will have to go through the most amazing and full of dangers of adventure\, which may not just be fantasies from his own fairy tales. \n17 years in the making\, this absolutely stunning film used puppet animation exclusively and avoided using computer animation for special effects!

SUMMARY:Sirāt
DESCRIPTION:Dir. Oliver Laxe – 2025 – 114m – Spain/France – In Spanish\, French & Arabic with English subtitles \n\n\nOSCAR NOMINATED FOR BEST INTERNATIONAL FEATURE FILM & BEST SOUND \nA father (Sergi López) and his son arrive at a rave deep in the mountains of southern Morocco. They are searching for Mar — daughter and sister — who vanished months ago at one of these endless\, sleepless parties. Surrounded by electronic music and a raw\, unfamiliar sense of freedom\, they hand out her photo again and again. Hope is fading\, but they push through and follow a group of ravers heading to one last party in the desert. As they venture deeper into the burning wilderness\, the journey forces them to confront their own limits. \n“Brilliantly depicts that bubble breaking\, its characters confronted with what it really means to be a citizen of the world\, rather than gliding above it\, with the music turned up loud enough to not have to listen.” – Alison Willmore\, New York Magazine/Vulture \n“It’s a reminder of what movies can do when they loosen the restraints of traditional narrative and remember that images are meant to evoke as much as they are to explain.” – Brian Tallerico\, RogerEbert.com \n“A first-class (and thoroughly audacious) effort from a seriously promising filmmaker.” – David Nusair\, Reel Film Reviews

DESCRIPTION:Dir. Robinson Devor – 120m – 2024 \n\n\n“ONE OF THE BEST DOCUMENTARIES OF THE YEAR” – VOGUE \nIn the early 1970s\, the FBI recruited Sara Jane Moore\, a conservative mother from the San Francisco suburbs\, to infiltrate leftist organizations—but her deeply radicalizing politics complicated her role. SUMMARY:Save The Farm\, Save The Future – Film Screening And Panel Discussion
DESCRIPTION:Dir. Chad Weber – 2025 – 60m \n\n\nTHIS IS A LIMITED SEATING FREE EVENT SO PLEASE RSVP HERE! \nFarming in America is harder than ever. Drought\, extreme weather\, rising costs\, development pressures\, and labor challenges are pushing farmers to their limits. Meanwhile\, climate change—the very force behind many of these struggles—is driving a surge in demand for clean energy\, transforming farmland into solar fields. Save the Farm\, Save the Future follows Colorado farmers and ranchers—from sheep and cattle ranchers to peach growers and small organic farmers—as they explore agrivoltaics\, a promising new approach that combines solar power and agriculture on the same land. Can this innovation help save farms while meeting society’s need for renewable energy? \nSet in Colorado\, this compelling movie is uniquely applicable to New Mexico\, where farmland is equally threatened by solar development while farms and ranches are struggling to stay in business. \nSpeaking from first-hand experience\, our engaging panel will share a different way forward and showcase agrisolar solutions being implemented right here in New Mexico and Colorado. Bring your curiosity and questions for the Q&A! \nGuest speakers \n\n\nByron Kominek\, Executive Director of the Colorado Agrivoltaic Learning Center and owner of Jack’s Solar Garden; \n\n\nCameron Weber\, Habitat Conservation Program Director for Rio Grande Return; \n\n\nKen Armijo\, Principal R&D Systems Engineer and Scientist at Sandia National Laboratories; \n\n\nMax Wade\, Owner of Galloping Goat Grazing in Albuquerque.

DESCRIPTION:Dir. Simón Mesa Soto – 2025 – 123m – Colombia – In Spanish with English subtitles \n\n\nLISTED IN INDIEWIRE & THE FILM STAGE’S TOP MOVIES TO SEE! \nMiddle-aged and erratic\, Oscar is a failed writer who has given up on life.  Unemployed and living with family\, he wanders the streets of Medellín in a drunken stupor\, lamenting the state of literature in his home country\, where he has succumbed to the cliché of the tortured artist. However\, the opportunity to mentor a young student offers a chance at redemption\, if he doesn’t screw it up first. In a performance marked by darkly comic pathos\, first-time actor Ubeimar Rios stars in Simón Mesa Soto’s Un Certain Regard Jury Prize-winner A Poet\, a raw and riotous farce about how good deeds are often met with the universe’s idea of cruel and \nunusually poetic punishment. \n“That you’re never entirely sure if Oscar is going to be the adult or the child in any given scene creates a wonderfully funny tension. SUMMARY:A Poet
It’s one of the best performances of this past year and if Rios never acted again\, it’d be a one-off for the ages…”- Robert Abele\, Los Angeles Times \n“The kind of crowd pleaser that’s made for audiences that can’t stand crowd pleasers.” – Andrew Parker\, The Gate \n“A bruisingly funny tragicomedy.” – Sean Burns\, Spliced Personality \n“A modern neorealist film that\, like a poem\, finds beauty in the most unlikely of places.” – Charles Johnston\, Spectrum Culture
