SUMMARY:DJ HYPERACTIVE (presented by CR8 PRODUCTIONZ & CYMATIC)
DESCRIPTION:Chicago born and bred DJ/Producer Joseph Manumaleuna aka DJ Hyperactive needs little introduction to those versed in the history of techno. As one of Daft Punk’s “Teachers” and “brother of the humble” according to Resident Advisor\, his contributions to the underground continue to span generations. \nHoning his skills in the highly influential scene and sound of Chicago in the early 90s\, DJ Hyperactive gained instant international recognition and has since gone on to play the most legendary and lauded events and venues over the last 30 years\, such as Orbit (Leeds)\, Liquid Room (Tokyo)\, Love Parade\, Tresor & Berghain (Berlin)\, Shelter & Smartbar (Chicago)\, Observe/Scene & Movement (Detroit)\, Basement & Output (Brooklyn)\, and the list doesn’t stop there. \nOver the course of his career\, he has produced over 100 release and numerous remixes\, including classics such as “Venus” & “Wide Open” (Missile)\, “25HRs” (Droid)\, “Music Box” (4Trk)\, “Reptilian Tank” & “Chicago” (Contact)\, Drop Bass\, Communique\, Hybrid\, Truncate\, Figure\, Plus 8\, CLR\, Blank Code\, Impact Mechanics\, Illegal Alien\, to name a few. \nDJ Hyperactive returned to Chicago 2013 to reconnect with his family and musical roots. His story continues with the difference being the experience and perspective that only a true veteran can possess.

SUMMARY:JENSEN MCRAE - God Has A Hitman Tour
DESCRIPTION:Jensen McRae could’ve been down for the count. “The most profound choices of my life\,” she says\, “have often felt like things I did before I was ready to do\, and I had to grow into them.” McRae’s songs give shape to these leaps\, cliff jumps\, and trust falls\, and on her new album\, I Don’t Know How But They Found Me!\, she goes further than ever\, evolving from a promising young artist into a fully realized songwriter and star. \n“It’s about realizing what you can’t outrun\, and what follows when you have withstood what you thought might crush you\,” she explains. “There are things that can happen to us—unthinkable\, untenable things—that threaten our safety in our own bodies. They happen\, and you feel like the only option is escape. In truth\, the only way out is in—back into the place you have always lived.” A home—Jensen front and center\, possibly leaving\, possibly arriving—adorns the album artwork. “You can leave the city\, you can leave the lover\,” McRae continues\, “but you can never leave yourself.” \nFrom the beginning\, fans have connected to McRae’s sharp\, evocative\, clear-eyed songwriting. An avid journaler\, she has been documenting her life since she was 18. Her first album\, Are You Happy Now?\, was a mission statement from an artist who grew up an automatic outsider: a Black Jewish girl from Los Angeles determined to make folk music despite the world’s attempts to box her into more stereotypical genres. Drawing inspiration from songwriting heroes like Alicia Keys\, Carole King\, James Taylor\, and Stevie Wonder\, McRae built a sonic world entirely her own. As her audience grew\, the album became “the record of my coming-of-age—but a quiet one\, mostly taking place inside my own head.” \nI Don’t Know How But They Found Me! unfolds against the backdrop of romantic turbulence and McRae’s rapidly expanding fanbase. “I had never been in love before—not really\,” she says. “Then I had two life-altering relationships back to back in my early twenties. This album explores how love and intimacy can knock the wind out of you\, take your legs out from under you.”\nMcRae has also experienced multiple viral moments. In 2023\, she shared a verse and chorus online—barely more than a demo—and it took off. Covers\, duets\, and an avalanche of new fans followed\, including Justin Bieber\, Stormzy\, and Dan Nigro. That song became “Massachusetts\,” her first release with Dead Oceans. \nThe album further affirms McRae’s defiance of expectations as she deepens her singer-songwriter credentials and claims space for young Black women in the genre. “I still feel like I’m pushing a boulder up a hill\,” she says. “Even with success and hard work\, I hit walls that aren’t there for other people. That’s part of why I make music—to be seen and to help others feel seen. But I remain somewhat misunderstood.” \nMcRae’s voice captures both the heartbreak of being left and of doing the leaving. Wispy and textured at times\, clear and bright at others\, her singing is as multidimensional as her lyrics. When the country-leaning single “Savannah” reaches its crescendo\, piano and guitar stack beneath her as she delivers scathing lines with grit and conviction: “You swore you’d raise our kids to end up just like you / well you’re a false prophet / and that’s a goddamn promise.” \n“Let Me Be Wrong” is a buoyant ode to rejecting perfectionism\, building from a simple acoustic melody into a full-bodied release\, capped by a raw\, crowd-ready line—“fuck those girls got everything.” The softer but devastating “Daffodils” explores intimacy and pain\, with the line “he cleaned my clock / he bought me daffodils\,” which McRae calls one of the album’s most emotionally brutal moments. Along with “Tuesday\,” it addresses the album’s heaviest themes\, including substance abuse and assault\, and how those dangers creep in slowly within intimate relationships. “Mother Wound” examines how emotional unavailability reshapes expectations of love. \nDespite its weight\, the album finds moments of light. Opener “The Rearranger” shimmers with nostalgia. “Novelty” is a situationship anthem celebrating the one that got away. “Praying For Your Downfall” blends snark and charm\, marking McRae’s shift into self-assuredness and perspective. \nMcRae recorded the album in North Carolina with producer Brad Cook (Waxahatchee\, Bon Iver)\, alongside Nathan Stocker of Hippocampus on guitar\, Matthew McCaughan of Bon Iver on drums\, and her brother Holden McRae on keys. “It felt like summer camp\,” she says. “None of us wanted to leave. It was ten joyful days of pure creative expression.” \nThe album’s title comes from Back to the Future\, referencing a character who survives a hail of bullets. “I connected with the idea that I could’ve collapsed beneath the weight of what happened to me—but I didn’t\,” McRae says. “I didn’t even know it\, but I was bulletproof the whole time.”

SUMMARY:Barns Courtney Unplugged Solo Sessions
DESCRIPTION:Barns Courtney has lived through more industry upheaval than most artists survive — A&Rs disappearing\, catalogs sold off\, years stuck in dead-end contracts — yet he’s still standing. Signed at 19\, reduced to sofa-surfing and odd jobs\, he clawed his way back when Bradley Cooper hand-picked his voice for Burnt\, just as his DIY single Glitter & Gold — recorded in an abandoned care home with filing cabinets for drums — quietly went platinum in the US. Since then\, multiple Top 10 alt-radio hits and a reputation for chaotic\, unmissable live shows have made him one of rock’s best-kept secrets. Now\, a decade on and finally free on indie label Avenue A\, Courtney isn’t making a comeback — he’s proving the music always connects\, even when the machine fails.

SUMMARY:Mark Farina
DESCRIPTION:Mark Farina is a name that rings out across the entire global dance music industry. His non-stop touring\, constant content creation\, partnerships with legendary venues and record labels as well as his total commitment to showcasing the best new and old school producers in his sets have made him a living legend to lovers of house and Mushroom Jazz everywhere. \nWith a passion for playing extended all night long shows as well as his recent foray into streaming exemplified by his highly successful YouTube series with Defected Records\, Farina continues to tirelessly entertain his incredible fans all over the globe online and by performing over 100 shows per year. \nThe last few years have been an incredible new era of creativity\, outreach\, and recognition for one of the most original and consistent voices in the business. Mark continues to connect with new fans without losing those who have been loyal supporters from day one. Fans\, promoters\, and industry insiders all know that no matter what changes come along Mark Farina always delivers. \nSaint John\nMusic has been my lifelong companion. From a young age\, I studied cello and guitar laying a foundation that would later evolve into a deep affection for electronic and house music. As a teenager\, I found myself immersed in the dancefloor energy of the genre—collecting records\, crafting mixtapes for friends\, and discovering the power of music to connect people. \nIn 1999\, a close friend and mentor introduced me to the art of DJing\, lending me his Technics turntables and a DJM-600 mixer. From that moment\, I was hooked. I began performing at bars\, clubs\, and desert parties across the Southwest\, building my sound and presence in the underground scene. \nIn 2005\, my DJ partner [@jimstephens80] and I launched Tantra Thursdays\, a weekly party at The Hideaway—a hidden speakeasy in Santa Fe\, NM. The space\, adorned with red walls\, flickering candles\, and Buddha statues\, became the perfect backdrop for the deep\, sultry house music we loved. Together\, we cultivated an intimate and transformative vibe that quickly gained a dedicated following. \nWhen the world shut down in 2020\, we brought Tantra Thursdays online\, streaming weekly on Twitch to keep the music— and the community—alive. The virtual show continues today\, connecting listeners near and far through sound. \nOver the past 25+ years\, I’ve been fortunate to share the decks with local and international house legends. Collaborating with masters of the craft continues inspiring me to always bring authenticity and connection to my own sets—whether on a big stage\, in an intimate venue\, or online.

SUMMARY:54 Ultra Live in North America! (Round Two)
DESCRIPTION:In the kaleidoscopic world of music\, 54 Ultra emerges as a beacon of sonic fusion\, weaving synthy indie rock with a Latin soul heartbeat. Based out of New Jersey\, 54 Ultra is the musical project of songwriter and producer JohnAnthony (Johnny) Rodriguez. Offering music that is both honest and melodic\, with a charismatic stage presence to match\, 54 Ultra is carving out a space uniquely his own\, defined by a garage pop and soul sound.\nThrough a combination of interning in a New Jersey studio and self-teaching\, Johnny built a solid foundation in music production before stepping into the spotlight with his own artist project. In early 2025\, Johnny headed to Miami to work with Kali Uchis on her latest album\, Sincerely\, where he produced the track “All I Can Say.” \nIn 2024\, he shared his debut single\, “Where Are You\,” which quickly gained traction online\, introducing listeners to a sound that feels both timeless and fresh. A year later\, he released his debut EP First Works\, which Billboard named one of the Best Projects of the Year (So Far). The six-track collection features fan favorites like “Upside Down” and “No Tengo Valor”\, and was followed by four sold-out shows in New York and Los Angeles.\nMost recently\, 54 Ultra shared “I Won’t Go\,” a Spanglish synth ballad that further showcases his ability to blend emotional depth with vibrant\, genre-blurring soundscapes.\nJust a little over a year after releasing his first single\, it was announced that 54 Ultra will perform at Coachella 2026. Leading up to the festival\, he will be opening for Kali Uchis at her San Jose show\, embarking on a nearly sold-out North American tour\, and playing his first European headline shows in London\, Amsterdam\, and Paris\, before closing out the year with a performance at Festival Color Caribe in Puerto Rico.

SUMMARY:Sarah Kinsley
DESCRIPTION:New York based Sarah Kinsley’s music evokes all the feelings. A schooled but intuitive musician/singer/producer\, she explores doubts and dreams in her captivating and sometimes ironic alt-pop songs. Distinctive and atmospheric she delves into the intimate and the expansive\, the introspective and the cinematic. Narratively driven\, there’s a dreamlike quality to her lyrics\, whilst musically it runs the gamut from a hazy\, alluring dream-pop to the more adventurous leftfield pop too. \nEscaper\, Sarah’s debut album\, was the 2024 follow-up to her introductory EPs ~ The near instantaneous virality of The King (2021)\, the cinematic Cypress (2022) and the widescreen Ascension (2023). A vibrant collection of songs\, Escaper was born from Sarah’s boundless desire to escape into portals and other realms. It was a musician rejoicing in holding nothing back and whose love of all things experimental and raw were reflected in her words and melodies. \nIt was in the spring of 2025\, while riding in cabs and walking the streets of New York by night\, inspiration struck again. A moment of realisation hit her imagination like a bolt of electricity\, a feeling so cathartic it became the foundation for her returning single\, Fleeting: a euphoric\, pulsating and richly melodic dance-pop track. If Escaper was the sound of an artist getting a feel for where she might fit in\, Fleeting is exactly that. A feeling. A freedom. A rush. A dance floor? An introduction to her next world.

DESCRIPTION:Singer\, songwriter\, and multi-instrumentalist Bryce Connolly\, better known as Mindchatter\, has built a reputation for his genre-defying electronic music\, blending introspective lyrics with infectious\, danceable beats. \nIn 2023\, he released two back-to-back EPs\, Spiritual Puberty and the grittier\, dance-floor-ready This Is A Reminder That You Are Not Behind Your Face. These followed his first two studio albums\, Imaginary Audience and DREAM SOUP. \nRenowned for his dynamic live performances that feature an immersive audio-visual experience along with him singing and playing several instruments\, Mindchatter has done his own headline tours along with supporting acclaimed artists like Polo & Pan and SG Lewis. \nIn 2024\, Mindchatter achieved a milestone selling out his 23-date A Chorus Of Monologues North American headline tour\, followed by international dates across the UK\, Europe\, Canada\, and the U.S.\, again selling out venues worldwide. He closed out the year with a direct support show at a sold-out Red Rocks Amphitheater. \nMindchatter has also become a staple on the festival circuit with appearances at Outside Lands\, Life Is Beautiful\, CRSSD\, Electric Forest\, Bonnaroo\, Lightning In A Bottle\, Coachella’s DoLab\, iii Points\, Hulaween\, Okeechobee\, and countless other marquee events. \nNovember 2025 marked the release of his third studio album\, Giving Up On Words. Says Connolly\, “This album is the closest I’ve come to defining Mindchatter. Giving Up On Words is about the quiet battle between the thoughts and their observer. It intentionally drifts between genres but stays consistent – whether it’s a dance track or a ballad\, the feeling is familiar.” \nIn February 2026\, Mindchatter will embark on his Giving Up On Words Tour\, where he will debut a reimagined live show and his biggest stage production yet.

SUMMARY:Nick Hexum
DESCRIPTION:“Zoom in and obsess. Zoom out and observe. We get to choose.” Rick Rubin\, The Creative Act \nYou probably already know Nick Hexum\, the crooner-voiced\, laid-back California guy who has long been the lead singer\, songwriter\, and rhythm guitarist in 311. But do you? His three EP trilogy\, Waxing Nostalgic\, Full Memories\, and Waning Time (yes\, they are named in honor of the phases of the moon)\, features a Midwestern man from Nebraska who plays mandolin and pedal steel\, and has many memories from the past he’d like to share. \n“I’m a person who pretends like stuff doesn’t bother me. So\, I knew going into writing this record that it would be cathartic for me\,” Hexum says. “I think Covid made me realize just how limited our time really is – it motivated me to create as much as possible\,” Hexum said with a laugh. “Is it too late for a midlife crisis?” \nThere is something about reaching not an age\, but a stage of life\, that forces everyone to slow down and inspires us to look around at what we’ve accomplished\, who we’ve become\, and what we’re leaving behind. For Hexum\, that meant turning to a different style of songwriting. The songs on these EPs are influenced by his foray into Americana\, both in instrumentation and songwriting. Reading Saved by a Song by Mary Gauthier and The Creative Act by Rick Rubin pushed him to explore writing far more personal songs inspired by his life. \nListening to Americana artists like Sierra Ferrell\, Faye Webster\, k.d. lang\, Patsy Cline\, and Madeleine Peyroux was part of Hexum’s path to making these EPs. The idea to release his first solo albums came after starting SKP\, a tech company that allows artists to release albums outside the major label system and retain the rights to their work. Realizing that system\, and the distribution it offered\, were at his fingertips\, was all he needed to release these songs after giving himself permission to become more vulnerable in his songwriting. “I don’t have to wait for other people to say when I can release music\,” he says. \n“Please Explain\,” a standout on Full Memories\, was co-written with Ben Kweller and is about asking one of his daughters to open up during a dark time — a plea for vulnerability. “Ben and I had this deep connection with what it’s like to be a dad and have worries\,” he says. \n“Careless\,” which Hexum has made a music video for\, was an exercise in owning up to the careless behavior we all exhibit in our relationships when we take them for granted. The music is a super-fast fingerpicker on banjo\, with flourishes of acoustic guitar\, fiddle and mandolin\, and is the closest he’s come to old-school country music in the tradition of Roy Clark and Chris Thile. \nFrom Waxing Nostalgic\, the slow dance opener that saw Hexum making his debut as a mandolin player\, is “Cosmic Connection.” It’s a little more akin to a waltz\, with a very ‘60s message about tapping into the universal and letting go of a tribal mentality of ‘us versus them.’ “We’re so much more connected and there is more harmony than feels apparent right now\,” he says. “I choose to reflect on that\, even if we feel more out of sync as a species than we have at other times.” \nFor “1978\,” Hexum collaborated with his sister\, Angie\, a poet\, on a song that serves as a visual story of growing up together. While some of the songs are written solely by him\, collaborative songwriting is a theme across the EPs. “To me\, it’s about the humility of knowing that I’ve got a lot to learn from other people\,” he explains. \nMaking a list of traumatic moments that Hexum felt he needed to explore in songs led to writing “I’m Open” on Waning Time about the time before his brother Patrick passed away following an overdose. “It’s about making these overtures to help him\, but knowing I can’t force him to change his life — but I am open to help\, if he is receptive\,” he says. Hexum\, who is sober\, discusses painful moments in the song\, like offering to discuss sobriety with his sibling\, giving him a guitar that he pawned\, and accepting that all anyone can do is offer help. \nThe EPs also contain a pair of covers\, Chapppell Roan’s “California” on Full Memories and Billie Holiday’s “Solitude” on Waning Time. Both tap into his crooner-style voice\, with Roan’s song speaking to a near-universal experience of Midwesterners who move to the coast\, East or West\, in search of a bigger life. It’s a crisis of confidence explored through the delivery of someone who has lived a whole life in California\, and reckoned with the decisions made throughout that life. The Holiday cover\, a song composed by Duke Ellington\, in which Hexum sings along to a steel guitar. It is his love letter to a singer who is one of his icons. The selection\, changes\, and arrangements on both reflect the wide variety of his influences. \nWaxing Nostalgic and Full Memories are out now. Waning Time will be released in summer 2025.

SUMMARY:West 22nd
DESCRIPTION:West 22nd is a rock band out of Austin\, TX\, made up of friends who met at UT Austin and came together with one shared goal: to make music for the world and become the next great rock band. \nTheir sound—self-described as carousel rock—spins through genre\, emotion\, and energy without ever losing its center. It’s a term they coined to capture the controlled chaos of their music: sometimes dizzying\, sometimes grounding\, always unforgettable. \nFrom a breakout EP to a debut album that pulled in over 1.5 million streams in its first month\, West 22nd has made it clear they’re not here to blend in. Their lyrics are autobiographical\, their shows are electric\, and their ambition’s impossible to miss. They’ve already played ACL\, sold out venues in cities they’d never even been to\, and built a fanbase that screams every word right back at them. \nWest 22nd isn’t a throwback or a trend—they’re what’s next. And if you’ve ever been in a crowd when the chorus hits just right\, you already know. \nFor the latest updates\, upcoming shows\, and more\, visit their official website: west-22nd.com

SUMMARY:SoDown
DESCRIPTION:Hanging around Ehren River Wright’s neck you’ll find a charm with four Latin words: Momento mori\, momento vivere. \n“It means\, ‘Remember that you must die\, remember that you must live\,’” says Ehren\, the composer\, multi-instrumentalist\, and producer better known as SoDown. “That’s what this new album is all about.” \nRecorded at Ehren’s own studio in Denver\, Worlds Beyond marks the highly anticipated full-length debut from SoDown\, who more than delivers on the promise of his early work with this bold\, adventurous collection. Blurring the lines between the organic and the electronic\, the music is both exhilarating and meditative all at once\, equally at home on headphones as it is blasting out of a festival PA. The writing is deceptively sophisticated\, drawing on stoicism and Eastern philosophy in a search for some greater meaning\, and Ehren’s production is similarly ambitious\, drawing on dubstep\, future bass\, reggae\, and hip-hop with the same intoxicating mix of live instrumentation and electronic elements that’s made SoDown a live favorite on stages from Red Rocks and The Gorge to Coachella and Electric Forest. The result is a rich and cinematic sonic hybrid\, one that manages to balance the visceral and the intellectual in perfect harmony as it grapples with life and death\, darkness and light\, struggle and transcendence. \n“To be SoDown is to seize every opportunity and try new things\,” says Ehren. “It’s about living the most epic life possible.” \nMomento mori\, momento vivere indeed. \n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Jonah Kagen
DESCRIPTION:A Savannah\, GA native\, Jonah Kagen is the embodiment of raw talent and relentless dedication. At just 25\, Jonah has already made waves with over 386 million global streams\, 2.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify\, and two critically acclaimed EPs—The Roads and Black Dress\, featuring hit “God Needs The Devil” which is presently Top 15 at Alternative radio and was chosen as one of Spotify’s Best Pop Songs of 2024. \nJonah’s unique artistry extends beyond his deep\, universally resonant songwriting. He is also a skilled guitarist and instrumentalist\, having played many instruments since childhood. And to round out his self-sufficiency\, he has taught himself how to produce every note\, most recently in an Airstream that he transformed into his personal mobile studio. \nThe Airstream isn’t just a fun adventure; it’s a reflection of Jonah’s spirit\, drawing inspiration from both nature and legends before him like Townes Van Zandt\, Jason Isbell\, and Andy McKee. Whether touring on his sold-out solo dates or performing alongside the likes of Sam Barber and Chance Peña in the US and abroad\, Jonah’s sound is a blend of personal experience and universal connection. Unsurprisingly\, Jonah’s balance of grit and musicality make him a festival mainstay having performed at the historic Austin City Limits\, AmericanaFest\, Summerfest\, and RedWestwith and will continue this summer with stops at RiverBeat\, Under The Big Sky\, Calgary Stampede\,\nBourbon & Beyond\, and more. \nWith his electrifying energy\, sincere songwriting\, and genre-defying sound\, Jonah Kagen is one to watch.

SUMMARY:Colony House: The 77 Tour
DESCRIPTION:Colony House’s fifth studio album\, 77\, is both a sonic departure and a spiritual arrival\, a retro-futurist meditation on eternity\, nostalgia\, and the invisible threads that hold us together. Steeped in the aesthetics of 1990s sound\, 77 finds the Tennessee-based four-piece—brothers Caleb and Will Chapman\, alongside Scott Mills and Parke Cottrell—reaching beyond what can be seen\, touched\, or even easily explained. “77\, the number\, means a lot of things to a lot of people\,” Caleb explains. “Biblically\, it’s the number of forgiveness. Spiritually\, it represents completion or wholeness. For us\, it’s become a symbol of eternal perspective—a lens to look at love\, loss\, and life with a little more intention.” For a band that built its name on emotion-driven\, heart-on-sleeve rock and roll\, 77 is a natural evolution: a mature\, longing album that doesn’t pretend to have all the answers but is brave enough to keep asking the questions.

SUMMARY:The Strumbellas: Into Dust Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Strumbellas know that misery loves company\, and that if we’re together\, even in dark times\, there’s some joy in that. Their songs of suffering and celebration date back to their 2012 debut My Father And The Hunter\, and the band have obsessively chased big hooks\, group vocal exuberance\, and folk-rock propulsion through their 2016 breakthrough Hope to 2024’s Part Time Believer. The Juno and iHeartRadio Music Award-winning group’s new song Hard Lines gives listeners an urgent\, new take on their iconic mix of intimate feelings with stadium folk sounds. \nDetermined to use every tool in their arsenal to write a good song\, The Strumbellas started by looking inward: random song titles\, non-sequitur ideas\, scraps of paper\, and voice memos of half-sung melodies came from everyone in the band. They then connected with their favourite collaborators\, songwriters and producers anywhere from their home in Toronto to Vancouver\, Nashville\, or LA\, to create demos that ranged from campfire-chord whispers to radio-ready productions. The long list was then whittled down by the band along with producer Chad Copelin (LANY\, Sasha Sloan\, Colony House)\, who recorded the band at his studio in Norman\, Oklahoma. Copelin’s finely honed sonic instincts bring out a newly textured\, insistently edgy side to The Strumbellas’ alt-folk stomp. \n“We’re living in a lonely world\,” says keyboardist Dave Ritter. “Whether it’s work or our home life or our screens\, life seems cut up into smaller and smaller pieces all disconnected from each other. Hard Lines is about picking your way through the rubble of contemporary life and the hope that we can build things together again. It’s something we’re reminded of when we gather to write or rehearse songs\, and when we get to play for people\, that music brings us together\, gives us some moments of connection that are hard to find these days.”

SUMMARY:Magic City Hippies
DESCRIPTION:Magic City Hippies have carved out a distinct place in the indie landscape\, blending Miami’s sun-soaked swagger with infectious funk\, psych-pop\, and danceable grooves. What began as the Robby Hunter Band evolved in 2015 with the release of Magic City Hippies\, the album that gave the trio its name and solidified a sound both laid-back and relentlessly kinetic. \nSince then\, the band has built a reputation for genre-fluid songwriting and high-energy performances\, earning spots at major festivals including Bonnaroo\, Austin City Limits\, and Lollapalooza. Their early Hippie Castle EP (2015) introduced their signature mix of poolside melodies and weekend-ready rhythms. Modern Animal (2019) expanded that palette with a deeper\, beachside sensibility\, while Water Your Garden (2022) served as a psychedelic post-pandemic celebration of connection and self-expression. \nIn 2024\, the band returned with a run of stylistically diverse singles\, from the disco-funk of “Givin’ Up On Lovin’” (featuring NoMBe) to the acid-house-tinged psych-pop of “I Can’t Let You Go”\, culminating in Enemies (2025)\, a groove-centered breakup album full of emotionally charged\, rhythm-driven tracks. Marrying an indie-rock punch with nostalgic\, synth-forward textures\, Enemies reflects a group willing to evolve without losing the essence of their sound. \nThough their recordings have drawn both critical and fan acclaim\, Magic City Hippies are best known for their live shows: sweaty\, exuberant\, and effortlessly engaging. Their ability to convert casual listeners into loyal fans is no accident\, it’s the result of years of relentless touring\, musical chemistry\, and an unapologetic commitment to making every show feel like a celebration.

SUMMARY:Kitchen Dwellers
DESCRIPTION:In Dante’s Inferno\, the author grapples with sin\, its various manifestations\, and its consequences. This time ultimately traces a trajectory of self-realization\, acceptance\, and accountability. Kitchen Dwellers embark on a similar odyssey over the course of their fourth full-length offering\, Seven Devils. The Montana quartet—Shawn Swain [Mandolin]\, Torrin Daniels [Banjo]\, Joe Funk [Upright Bass]\, and Max Davies [Acoustic Guitar]—thread together an immersive and inimitable conceptual arc inspired by Dante’s Inferno and set to a soundtrack of folk-infused bluegrass spiked with psychedelic vision and rock energy. \nContinuing their own journey as brothers\, they deliver their most ambitious and anthemic body of work yet. \n“These tunes deal with the human experience\, and Torrin initially drew a parallel between the music and Dante\,” Max states. “We explored the connection by correlating each song with a sin. Some of these connections are only apparent if you dive deep into the lyrics. Our goal is to essentially take the listener through our own interpretation of the Inferno story.” \n“We didn’t go into the studio with the intent of making a concept album\,” recalls Torrin. “I was driving around listening to everything\, and I noticed these parallels. To dive deeper\, we’re discussing topics like mental health\, the human condition\, and what we go through on the road. In life and music\, everything is recurring and universal. I was reading Dante at the time\, and it naturally fit.” \nIt proved to be a logical next step as well… \nThus far\, Kitchen Dwellers have engaged and enraptured listeners with albums such as Ghost In The Bottle [2017]\, Muir Maid [2019]\, Live from the Wilma [2021]\, and Wise River [2022]. Of the latter\, Holler. praised how “Kitchen Dwellers have preserved their sense of youthful experimentation\,” and Relix proclaimed\, “The songs on the new record build on this range\, while also reflecting on the group’s Bozeman\, Montana home.” Between tallying millions of streams\, the band ignited hallowed venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre and graced the bills of Telluride Bluegrass\, Northwest String Summit\,\nWinterWonderGrass\, and beyond. \nIn order to bring Seven Devils to life\, the musicians opted to work with producer Glenn Brown. It would not only mark their first time collaborating with the producer\, but it also would be the first time they decamped to Michigan in order to record. \n“The studio itself definitely impacted the vibe\,” Torrin notes. “It’s a tiny workspace\, but it’s full of old recording equipment with legendary stories attached to it. For almost the entire time\, we were forced to congregate in this room together. The process was ever-evolving\, because ideas kept flowing.” \nFittingly\, “Seven Devils (Limbo)” opens the album and serves as the first single. Nimbly picked banjo and upbeat acoustic guitar set the pace as the regretful chorus bemoans\, “Am I supposed to hop the next train? Or stand here drowning in the Oregon rain?” A guitar-driven bridge dips in and out of effects-laden echoes and stark strumming. Coming full circle\, a ten-minute version of “Seven Devils” later bookends the record with an epic finale. \n“I incorporated some elements of grunge in terms of the chords\, which are a little dissonant\,” Torrin elaborates. “Thematically\, it’s the descent into Hell. First\, Dante goes through limbo before reaching any of the circles where the cardinal sins are addressed. ‘Seven Devils’ evokes the feeling of being in limbo.” \n“It also signifies you’re embarking on some type of journey\,” Max agrees. “By the end of the LP\, you know the protagonist isn’t going to be the same person.” \nThen\, there’s “The Crow and The Raven (III).” The track’s emotionally charged vocals seesaw on top of strings in a moment of terse reflection. “I went through a horrible breakup in 2018 when I wrote the first version\,” Shawn remembers. “‘The Crow and The Raven (III)’ sat in my notebook for a half-decade before we revamped it. Now\, it’s a sad\, slower lament about enduring the loss of a relationship.” \n“Pendulum” rushes towards a mournful refrain offset by a plucky crescendo. “It’s about dealing with an addiction in your life and how it affects relationships\,” Joe says. “People often trade one addiction for another\, whether positive or detrimental to their life\, as a means to satisfy their baseline addictive tendencies.” \nOn the other end of the spectrum\, “Here We Go (VI)” laments the epidemic of shootings in America with unfiltered frustration projected through a powerful ebb and flow punctuated by a cameo from Lindsay Lou. \n“I was riding a Greyhound from Seattle to Missoula in 2012\,” Max goes on. “There had just been another school shooting. It’s terrible to think of how many shootings have happened since. Why is this happening? The chorus shifts gears to miscommunication between two parties in a relationship. Those are the two driving forces.” \nAn electric guitar lead heralds the onset of “Unwind (Paradiso)\,” building towards one climactic moment of catharsis. \n“A psychedelic experience and life-changing ego death changed my outlook on many things\,” Torrin admits. “‘Unwind (Paradiso)’ was one of those moments where you surrender and let it take you. You’re letting go of the human things in your brain that make you want to fight or cause you to be afraid. It also came together in the studio as a band\, which was super cool.” \nIn the end\, Kitchen Dwellers may just leave you changed with Seven Devils. \n“The record is a trip inward within the self\,” Torrin concludes. “It tackles a lot of things in the world people try not to think about. The reality is we’re only truly happy when happiness comes from within. That’s the message.”
