SUMMARY:Sgt. Splendor
DESCRIPTION:Kate Vargas and Eric McFadden! \n\n\n\n\nBefore joining forces\, the duo behind Sgt. Splendor were already formidable solo artists\, Kate Vargas chalking up acclaim at outlets like NPR\, HuffPost\, SPIN\, No Depression Rolling Stone and Vice (including praise from the “Dean of American Rock Critics” Robert Christgau); \nand Eric McFadden amassing an impressive resume including stints on guitar with George Clinton & the P-Funk All Stars\, Anders Osbourne\, Fishbone’s Angelo Moore\, and Eric Burdon & The Animals\, plus a slew of solo albums\, and session work and gigs with everyone from Jackson Browne to The Clash’s Joe Strummer. \nSgt Splendor’s 2nd release\, “Death of the Hoochie Koo” dropped May 19th on Buena Vista West Records. \n“Tom Waits’ music has always been a point of connection for me & Kate. While our musical approaches differ\, they’re also kindred and share a lot of common elements. Our Southwestern upbringing comes through—that sort of mysteriouso desert thing—but also a carnivalesque Waits-ian vibe. The new record is a bit more cohesive but still eclectic. Kind of an Alt-Funk\, Desert Roots\, Dirty Blues\, Rock thing. Our styles have always been complementary.” Vargas concurs: “Sgt. Splendor really feels like a combination of both of us—equally.” \nAmong the players who have accompanied Sgt Splendor in the studio and on stage are: Dave Schools (Widespread Panic)\, Norwood Fisher & Angelo Moore (Fishbone)\, Dominic Davis (Jack White)\, Paulo Baldi (Les Claypool)\, Falcon Greenwell (Tedeschi Trucks)\, Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads) \n“…In the ten new songs\, not only do the amazing vocals and skillful guitar playing of the two musicians complement each other very well\, but alt-funk\, desert rock and dirty blues also merge seamlessly. Groovy and brooding\, mysterious and memorable – this is hot music with cool cover art.” – Dennis / Add To Want-list 2023

SUMMARY:Telehealth
DESCRIPTION:An exciting opportunity to invest in the music industry \n\n\n\n\nThis is a draft! Please tear apart after reading. \nLed by Alexander Attitude\, Telehealth is an unpredictable pop band with heavy nods to post-punk\, minimal synth\, egg-punk\, new wave\, art rock\, glam\, and krautrock. \nTelehealth wears the color green to remind us all that the American pedagogy\, which has become so focused on selling green as a product to alleviate the symptoms of a self-inflicted hellscape. Instead of being upset\, Telehealth embraces uncertainty and absurdity. \nTelehealth is a joke\, but it is not a joke. As a product itself\, Telehealth is here to remind us that everything is a product placement. Telehealth is an industry plant. Just as religion is the opium of the masses\, Telehealth is now the opium of architects\, policymakers\, technocrats\, AND NOW MUSICIANS! \nTelehealth embraces technology. Although the future is much stupider than originally advertised\, Telehealth works together with the world’s largest and most innovative corporations to offer solutions. The world is sick!!! Telehealth aims to relieve the painful symptoms of modern dread. \nEach Telehealth performance is driven to suspend disbelief about change\, but it is also a way of making-do of this dystopian reality we live in. Telehealth is a way of thinking and questioning our world and our place within it. \nThat is all to say\, Telehealth is not a famous band\, but they are trying to become a famous band. \nTelehealth is a for profit company.

SUMMARY:Khemmis w/ Necrofier\, Wretched
DESCRIPTION:Denver Doom Metal \n\n\n\n\nAfter eleven years of releasing albums and touring the world\, Colorado’s Khemmis have become a pillar of the modern metal scene.“When we started this band\, we had no expectations\, no assumptions—wejust wanted to play heavy metal\,” says guitarist/vocalist Ben Hutcherson. “The older I get\, the more I appreciate how rare it is in life to have relationships that last this long andoffer a sense ofstability and reassurance in a world that increasingly is horrifying andunsuitable for human life. And so\, in many ways\, this band is a home.”Some artists strive for a legacy; Khemmis felt born with one. Uponreleasing their 2015 debut Absolution\, the Denver-based four-piece felt like old souls whose towering\, spiritual doom metal connected with metalheads the world over. This was further cemented by 2016’s Hunted\, which won the band international acclaim and was declared Album Of The Year by Decibel. 2018’s rollicking Desolation\, 2020’s devotional Doomed Heavy Metal MLP(featuring a fan-favorite cover of Dio’s “Rainbow In the Dark”) and 2021’s searing Deceiveronly reinforced theband’s monolithic sound and diehard following. It makes sense\, then\, that the Khemmis behind Khemmis–—Hutcherson\,fellow vocalist/guitarist Phil Pendergast\, drummer Zach Coleman\, and newly-appointed bassist DavidSmall—is different in many ways. While the band has often feltsynonymous with the Denvermetal scene\, Pendergast and Coleman have since moved away toWashington and North Carolina respectively. And yet\, Khemmis today feel more like the band they’ve always wanted tobe than ever.
